What do you need to rent an exotic car in Atlanta? Four things. A valid driver license in your name, proof of full coverage insurance or a policy arranged through Raven for your dates, a refundable security deposit on a card in your name, and you have to be at least 21. That is the entire list. There is no separate exotic car license, no driving record review, and no published credit score minimum. If one of those four is genuinely a problem for you right now, a photo session with the same car needs none of them, because nobody drives it, and that distinction matters enough that it gets its own section below.
A valid driver license, in your name
The license has to be current and it has to belong to the person renting the car. We photograph it at handoff, the same fifteen minutes where we walk the car with you and go over the controls. If someone else in your group is going to take a turn behind the wheel, put them on the contract as an additional driver before the rental starts. They meet the same requirements as the primary renter, age included, and driving without being listed voids the coverage on the car. A license from another state is fine, and so is a foreign license valid to drive in Georgia, which comes up often with Atlanta being a travel and convention city.
Insurance: yours, or one arranged through Raven
You need proof of insurance that extends to a rental at this value, or a supplemental policy we arrange for the exact dates you book. This is the requirement people most often assume they already meet and do not. A liability-only policy typically will not cover collision damage to a car like the Lamborghini Urus S, and some personal policies exclude rentals above a certain value outright. Send your policy details when you inquire and we tell you on the quote which situation applies to you, insured through your own coverage or through a policy we add for the dates. Either way the cost is on the quote before you pay, not discovered at the door.
The refundable security deposit
Every rental carries a refundable deposit on a card in the renter’s name. It is a hold against your available credit, not a charge, and the amount depends on the car, so it is printed on your quote before you commit to anything. The hold releases after the car comes back and gets checked over. If there is damage, the repair cost comes out of the deposit and you get an itemized breakdown rather than a flat forfeiture. The full mechanics of how that works, including what happens if the damage exceeds the hold, live on the exotic car rental page.
Minimum age is 21, on every car
Twenty-one is the floor across the whole roster, whether it is an entry point like the BMW M4 Competition or the most expensive thing we list. There is no exception for a 19 year old with a clean record, and there is no cosigning around it the way a landlord might let a parent cosign a lease. This is the requirement that generates the most disappointed messages, usually from someone planning a birthday or a prom send-off for someone who is 16, 17, or 18. It is worth saying plainly here rather than letting someone find out after they have already picked a car and a date: if the renter is under 21, the rental itself is not available, full stop, no matter what car or what day. The question comes up most often about the roster's Lamborghinis specifically, covered in more detail in can you rent a Lamborghini in Atlanta at 21.
The route that skips all four
A photo session puts the same car in front of you and a professional photographer, parked, for thirty or sixty minutes. Because nobody drives the car during a session, none of the four requirements above apply to it: no license, no insurance, no deposit, and no age minimum, for the session only. That last point matters because it is easy to hear "no age minimum" and assume it describes renting, and it does not. A 16 year old getting prom pictures with the Audi R8 does not need a license, insurance, or a deposit, because the car never leaves the spot it was delivered to; a parent or guardian signs the booking agreement and waiver and does not need to be present. Session days run at scouted spots around the city, covered in more depth in the best places to take car photos in Atlanta. It is a different product for a different need, the photograph rather than the drive, and it exists specifically for people the rental requirements were never going to fit.
Which one actually fits your day
- Renting fits a day you are actually going to drive it: a weekend, an airport pickup at Hartsfield-Jackson, a wedding convoy, a client day around Buckhead or Midtown.
- A session fits a day where the point is the picture, not the drive: prom or homecoming, a birthday shoot, a graduation set, a brand or music video still.
- Under 21, without a license, or without insurance that extends to a car at this value? A session gets you the same car and the same photographs without any of those four requirements standing in the way.
What to send when you inquire
For a rental, send your license and insurance details when you first reach out, and the quote that comes back is firm rather than an estimate, with the deposit and the mileage allowance stated in writing before you pay anything. Delivery, the walkthrough, and the return are handled by the same person you have been messaging the whole time, whether the address is a home in Sandy Springs, a hotel in Buckhead, or the arrivals curb at the airport. For a session, there is no paperwork to send before you book a slot at all. Either way, it is one company and one contact from the first message to the moment the car goes back, or the pictures come in.
